BRONZEWING
There are no environmental non-compliances
on any of the Bronzewing tenements.
Environmental performance bonds over the project tenements
total $3.34 million. This is comprised of $2.2 million on
the Mt McClure tenements and $1.2 million to cover the Bronzewing
mine, processing plant, tailings dam, village and related
infrastructure.
The tailings dam at Bronzewing has existing capacity and can
be expanded when required following regulatory approvals.
The $2.2 million in bonds that relate to the Mt McClure tenements
is the subject of rehabilitation completed at Newmont’s
expense in 30 June 2004. In September 2004, Newmont Australia
won the Golden Gecko award for co-operative partnership in
planning and execution of decommissioning and rehabilitation
of Mt McClure Gold Project.
View Resources assumed the $3.34 million environmental bonds
from 16 July 2004. Bond redemption applications have been
lodged by View Resources to recover a percentage of the $2.2
million bonded to cover those areas rehabilitated by Newmont.
View has commissioned Outback Ecology to provide environmental
services which include a Bronzewing environmental officer,
bond redemption review and input into the Bankable Feasibility
Study.
